Thank you for taking the time to visit my website. First let me say that I feel it is an honor to be able to work intimately with people as they are on this path of self discovery. I am often inspired by the courage, resiliency, humility and honesty of my clients and feel it is a joy to be part of a process that can help create meaningful changes in their lives.
I am a Licensed Clincial Social Worker, and hold a Board Certified Diplomate in Clinical Social Work specializing in individual and couples psychotherapy. I have two office locations in Sherman Oaks, California and Whittier, California.
I have over 25 years of experience as a clinician, and as a graduate of U.S.C. specializing in mental health, I work as a private practitioner serving a broad spectrum of clients. Among my areas of expertise are mood disorders; grief and loss counseling, crisis intervention and relationship counseling.
In addition to my private practice, I also am employed as a Social Worker in an Emergency Room/Trauma Center in a local hospital, dealing with issues ranging from death and dying; psychiatric emergencies, major medical crises and health issues, child abuse and substance abuse to name a few.
I am also currently teaching in the Masters of Social Work program at California State University, Los Angeles.
My approach is interactive and integrates active listening with feedback or recommendations. My theoretical orientation is psychodynamic and I utilize cognitive-behavioral techniques along with alternative approaches to help clients develop new insights and make signficant changes in their daily lives. I consider one's early experiences in order to better understand one's current feelings, thoughts and behaviors. Therapy, like most processes in life, can sometimes be challenging and this path may require us to endure some pain during the process. However, have faith. Trust that the processs is worthwhile and can lead to bringing about your desired changes and helping you achieve the kind of life you would like to have.
Choosing a therapist is an important part of the process. Trust your gut feelings and make sure you choose to work with someone that feels like a good match.
Thank you again for visiting my website and I hope you find your path to a more peaceful, fulfilling and wonder-filled life.
